Blue Spruce Christmas 2025

Welcome to the 2025 Light Show Website
our 11th Year

What's New
  • We took last year off to relax a little but we are back this year and hopefully better than ever. It's quite an ordeal to setup the show every year. It takes six or seven days to set everything up and another day or two to test all the programming. Then we have to take it all back down in January!

  • All of the old favorites are back
Ode To Joy to the World - The Piano Guys
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen - Lindsey Stirling
Abraham Lincoln Tribute - The Piano Guys
Angel's From The Realms of Glory - The Piano Guys
Song #5 - SandStorm - Durade - This isn't a Christmas song but we couldn't resist the temptation to do a light show with it. It's amazing! My brother Bobby who is much more musically talented then I did the sequencing for this one. Enjoy!

  • 200 new LED pixel lights provide millions of colors to add to the festivities

  • This year I hope to greatly improve the video quality for those watching online. We will be recording with four different 4k video cameras and then combining the best of these images together with high quality sound tracks to your favorite songs.

  • For the past few years we have chosen one patriotic song for the show. In the past we have honored our Military, Veterans and First Responders with Jim Brickman's "Christmas Where You Are". This year we have chosen The Piano Guys "Abraham Lincoln Tribute" which is a great compilation of iconic patriotic songs. We hope you will enjoy it. Check out Jim Brickman's "Christmas Where You Are" from last year if you missed it.

A special thanks this year to my brother, Bobby, for his help getting the new website programmed and for sequencing a new musical score for this years show. I couldn't have done it without you! Thank you!

Once again I'd like to give a special word of thanks to our next door neighbors who have gratiously allowed us to expand into their yard again this year so we can spread out and make the show more exciting for you. Thanks Karl and Susan!

History
Original Sign
Original Hand Made Sign Controller circa 1940

Our venture into automated christmas lights started back in 2013.

While cleaning out the attic at my parents home I found an old Christmas display that was built by my dad when he was a teenager. It was a hand made box about four feet long with individual lighted cells.

He then hand painted glass inserts for each cell that spelled out "MERRY CHRISTMAS" and by changing the glass inserts after Christmas he could spell "HAPPY NEW YEAR".

The lights were "automated" (see picture) with a small motor and a series of cams and switches to turn on each letter in sequence and then flash the entire message three times before starting over again.

I spent many hours refurbishing the sign and repainting the letters but I was never able to get the little timer motor to work again. My brother suggested I connect the bulbs to a Light-O-Rama controller to get the same effect. I took his advice, bought two controllers and automated the sign and a few other Christmas lights and the first show in 2013 was born.

Since then I have added lights and controllers and upgraded software each year until now I have approximately 50,000 lights and over 700 channels of control. Some light features can do over 16 million colors to create dazzling displays. I hope you enjoy the show.
